Timeline

Tentative Timeline for Marginalia.co.uk

This website will be created in several stages throughout the 2004-2005 academic year.

Michaelmas Term

By Michaelmas, we hope to have ready a useful, 'bare minimum' version of the website, which will include the following:
  • A calendar of events and deadlines for the academic year (to be updated continually)
  • A contacts list of Cambridge graduates performing research on medieval studies (to be updated continually)
  • A list of the dates for MERG meetings, possibly including information regarding speakers and readings
  • A list of courses available for medievalists at Cambridge
  • A list of useful resources for Cambridge medievalists
Although Marginalia will not yet be up and running, we may have a temporary 'welcome' section on the main page that will include helpful information for newcomers to Cambridge and possibly brief remarks concerning newly published criticism and editions.  Over the course of Michaelmas Term, we will advertise an informal 'call for papers' from medieval MPhils and PhDs.

Lent Term

Lent Term will hopefully see the beginnings of Marginalia.  By the end of Lent, there should be a few new additions to and refinements of the website, including:
  • The first issue of Marginalia(online)
  • Additions to the Conferences/Reading Groups page
  • The Bibliographies page, which will include some brief bibliographies for various subjects and authors
  • The Funding page, which will focus primarily on information regarding funding for Cambridge degrees

Easter Term

We will use Easter Term to compile resources such as the FAQ page for medieval MPhils and PhDs and to streamline the existing website.  Depending on the success of the first issue of Marginalia, we may attempt to put a second issue together by the end of Easter Term.  By this point, we hope to have an online form available that would enable medievalists to input and update their contact information conveniently.
